Château Cavalier Grand Blanc – Côtes de Provence – Provence – France

Château Cavalier is located in Provence, between Aix-en-Provence and Nice. The estate is best known for its rosé, but with this Grand Blanc, they have created a white wine with real character.
Which grapes?
Clairette Blanche · Rolle · Sémillon
Each grape brings something different: Clairette adds freshness and citrus, Rolle brings aroma, spice and tension, while Sémillon gives the wine a rounder, softer character.
Typical southern French grapes, bringing together freshness and aromatic character with a little extra roundness.
Fresh and aromatic, with plenty of body. You first get citrus and green fruit, followed by riper peach and a subtle spiciness. Dry, lively and beautifully balanced.
Why is it special?
This was the first white wine ever made by Château Cavalier at the estate. The grapes are harvested at night to preserve as much freshness as possible, and the wine is partly aged in oak.

Red
Château Lafon-Rochet 4ème Grand Cru Classé Saint-Estèphe 2015
Dark fruit - Cassis - Spicy - Full-bodied
Château Lafon-Rochet has been making wine for centuries in Saint-Estèphe, on Bordeaux’s Left Bank. In 1855, the château was classified as a Grand Cru Classé – officially making it one of the great names of Bordeaux.
Powerful, but not heavy. Plenty of dark fruit, a lovely spiciness and enough freshness to make you want another sip. The château itself describes its style as a combination of power and freshness, with refined tannins.
Which grapes?
Saint-Estèphe is primarily Cabernet country. At Lafon-Rochet, the vineyards are planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vineyards sit on gravel and clay – the characteristic soils of this part of Bordeaux.
